Counsellor / Psychotherapist Profile

Welcome to my page. I am an established psychotherapist, counsellor and psychologist, committed to closely follow wherever my clients' stories, feelings, memories take us, knowingly or unknowingly.

I find that to understand what my clients’ feelings and experiences are, often we together need to look behind the surface. These feelings have usually been present for a long time: they are expressed and suffered in many different ways. Yet, it is often difficult to put them into exact words. This may be why you too are looking for a therapist: to help talking about what you have, in a way, always known but have never quite been able to say.

I received a rigorous five-year training at WPF Therapy, one of the most respected institutions in the UK for psychodynamic psychotherapy. This training enabled me to work therapeutically with a wide range of issues and provide both problem-focused counselling and broader-ranging psychotherapy. As a therapist working privately I have developed an approach where I trust my clients to know best what their issues are, and provide a space where they are listened to and understood in a way they have not been before.

Alongside my work as therapist, I also hold a PhD in psychology. Working as a Lecturer in Psychology at the Open University, I am a member of the School of Psychology’s Psychotherapy and Counselling Research Group. So, in working with you, I will draw upon my therapeutic experience as well as an understanding of contemporary psychotherapy and counselling research.

Following an initial consultation meeting (free of charge), I offer weekly 50-minute sessions. Therapy then is open ended and will conclude whenever you feel ready.

The fee is £50-£90, depending on your circumstances. Concessions are available.
