BA Hons Counselling
My name is Emma Taylor and I am a qualified integrative counsellor and CBT counsellor with a counselling and psychotherapy practice based in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk.
Quite a few years ago now, a life changing event caused me to re-evaluate my future. With the help of my family and friends and a great counsellor, I began to move forward, to understand what makes me who I am and I learnt how to look after myself, that was a particularly steep learning curve.
I then went on to train to become a counsellor in Bury St Edmunds and now I am able to provide my clients with what my counsellor did for me:
I offer one to one counselling to explore any issues you may have confidentially and in a safe and quiet environment. My counselling approach is integrative and at the initial session which is up to 60 minutes long, we will discuss your requirements and what you would hope to achieve from counselling. Subsequent sessions are 50 minutes long.
Some of the issues covered include bereavement & grief, depression, anger & anxiety, relationship issues and OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder) and many more. To see them please feel free to visit my website.
My belief is that to be an effective counsellor, you need to be all of the above, but one thing that is so important is that you need to provide the hope that things can get better as they did for me!
I have been a Counsellor for around 12 years. I set up my own practice, Bury St Edmunds Counselling and it’s a busy practice. I have also worked for social services and the NHS.
I also gained a BA Hons in Integrative counselling and also work with couples who have relationship issues.
